{TWD} Chunky Peanut Butter and Oatmeal Chocolate Chipsters

Recipe #227

Stefany from Proceed with Caution picked this week’s Tuesdays with Dorie recipe. These cookies were easy to make and definately taste better with ice cream.:P They tasted better the next day. I think they needed time for all the flavors to meld together or something. They have a subtle peanut butter taste with some nutmeg and cinnamon thrown in for good measure.

{TWD} Chocolate-Banded Ice Cream Torte

This week’s Tuesdays with Dorie recipe was a Chocolate-Banded Ice Cream Torte (Recipe #219). It’s also my first official TWD recipe. I made it using homemade vanilla ice cream. I decided on plain vanilla ice cream because I was making my own. I also 1/2’d the recipe because it’s just the two of us and ice cream cake is not something I can easily bring into work. I used a mini-springform pan and it worked out perfectly. I used the leftover ganache for my vanilla caramel fudge ice cream.

Tuesdays with Dorie

I’m joining Tuesdays with Dorie (TWD) this week now that I have a blog. It’s a group of bloggers that are baking through Dorie Greenspan’s Baking: From My Home to Yours. You can read about the history of the group on the TWD blog. I bought the book in early July and have been unofficially following along with the group the last few weeks. As you can see, I have a lot of catching up to do!
