These turned out more cake than bar for me but still delicious (thanks to Karen of Something Sweet by Karen who picked this week’s Tuesdays with Dorie recipe–Applesauce Spice Bars–for the recipe visit her BLOG) and I’m cutting this post short because of THIS {I also realize the week is over, but I’m technically writing this during the week of the challenge so it counts ๐ and I’m on the road back from Las Vegas today}.
Enjoy Las Vegas! Great looking bars!

These look great Wendy! Double points for getting this post up while you are on holidays.
I am in Cape Cod today too…..love the magic of posting ahead of time and publishing later…..ah, the magic of the information super highway :).
Cake like, yes – but at least yours resemble bar form – I messed up and made muffins!
mine turned out cake like as well but i expected that. i figured they were just called ‘bars’ because you cut em into bite sized squares.
they look delicious, either way.
Def more cake like, but fun none the less!
These were a little more like cake–but a delicious cake so I was okay with that! Hope you had fun in Vegas!
Enjoy your trip! I love the shininess of your glaze.
I also found these to be more cakey than bar-y (word?), which was a little disappointing (just because I was expecting bar-y); but once I got over that, I thought they were really good. Yours looks beautiful! I haven’t even posted yet because I’m so mourning the end of one-sentence blog post week.
Beautiful photo…I like the reflection of the background in the glaze!!
Peace, Stephanie
Your desserts always look so runway perfect! They were cakey, but still good. The kids are downstairs hovering over them right now. Guess what they are having for breakfast?
Ciao ! How is las vegas ? Your bars (squarish cake bites) are a beauty !!!
Perfect. Love the photo.
Looks delicious. It’s a dessert that reminds me of fall!
MMMM! I love everything in these bars!
Yours look wonderful . . . I love how brown and apple-y it turned out!
Gimme! ๐
I agree a little more cake-y than bar like, but still delicious!
These were very cakey, but you could put the glaze on the newspaper and I’d eat it.
I thought they were more cake-like, too, but really liked them.
Great photo!!!
Looks delicious!
I made these cakes with smashed, fresh peaches in place of the applesauce and cubed, fresh peaches. The flavor was amazing! Thanks for the template to a delectable treat.
What yummy bars! I hope you had a great time in Vegas!!
Mmmmm…that little layer of glaze looks so yummy. Hope Vegas was a blast!
UUMM!!!! Those look fantastic.
Yummy cake/bar! I want a bite..
Your picture is amazing!
Mmmm… when did you say I could come over?
Looks delish! I agree–more a cake than a bar, but oh so yummy anyhow. ๐
These look great! Hope you had fun in Vegas.
Looks great! I thought it was weird these were in the cookie section of Baking, definitely more of a cake.
Yummie, either cake or bar looks delicious and moist…great picture!
yum, yum…they look so moist! i know what happens in vegas stays in vegas, but hope you had a good trip!
Yay Vegas! Oh yeah, and those bars look delicious too ๐ I miss 1 sentence posting…
your bars look delicious!
I’ve just now finished mourning the end of one-sentence blogging week ๐ Your bar looks amazing – what a great photo! I agree that these were very cake-like, but I loved them anyway, especially with the glaze!
Oh yum. I’d love one of these right now!
