I had to make waffles for this week’s Sweet Melissa Sundays recipe, so I invited the family over for brunch. The waffles were pretty good (not anywhere near as good as the waffles I had from Bouchon) and the brown sugar bananas were delicious (although my brother said they were too banana-y; how can bananas be too banana-y?)
Thank you to Lauren of Fried Pickles and Ice Cream for selecting Raised Waffles with Warm Brown Sugar Bananas for this week. If you would like the recipe, visit her blog or buy the book.
(For those who are interested: Today I am in Lautoka, Fiji.)

MMMMMMMM,….those waflles look great! Yum Yum Yum,…
wow.these waffles looks super delish!
I didn’t care for them either. They were lacking in flavor or something…but Im glad I gave them a try! Your waffles sure look good. Sorry they weren’t a hudge hit with your family .
i have to say, i would rather be in fiji eating waffles!
Looks yummy! Yeasted waffles are my favorite–I don’t make any other kind anymore. I usually use the recipe from Cooks Illustrated.
I have never tried yeasted waffles, but, once I get a waffle iron, I may have to change that. Your waffles look good.
They look terrific Wendy! I actually preferred the waffles themselves to the topping, but I’ve never had Bouchon’s waffles so maybe my standards are low
I agree, the bananas were wonderful!
Have fun in Fiji!
Your waffles look wonderful! Hope you had a great time in Fiji!!!
Mm, Looks great! I didn’t have time for the banana part and made just the waffles. Yours looks so good I might have to make that part in the future!
I’m thinking those bananas a good way to spruce up the kids weekday Eggo waffles. They like banana-y.

Your waffles look great!
(rub it in that you’re in fiji, why dontcha?!)
look nice food hehe
I usually eat bananas when they still have a little green on the peel, once they ripen they get too banana-y for me too! True confessions. The waffles look great!
Hi Wendy,
Those waffles look delicious, and enjoy your time at Fiji…how fun! By the way, I have a little surprise for you, visit me at Breaskfast with Meat Sauce.
Your waffles look delicious. Bouchon sells a waffle mix.
Hope you’re having a great time!
They look great! I’ve never tried raised waffles before.
